Director Of Administration

Dr. Joseph Josaphat Akpan is the Director of Administration University of Uyo Teaching Hospital.

He is bringing into the service of the hospital a rich profile of an experienced administrator who has gained experience in all aspects of governance in the hospital, including human resources, board matters, procurement, and general administration, among others as follows:

He started his career as Personnel Officer II in 1997 in the hospital and rose through the ranks to Deputy Director in 2020 before the current appointment as the substantive Director of Administration.

Dr. Akpan attended the University of Uyo at where he got his first degree in English in 1992. He later proceeded to bag his PGDPA, M.SC.  in Public Administration in the same University. After wards, he attended the University of Calabar and obtained Ph.D. in 2023. He is married with five children.
